Good questions

Seasonal color analysis, explained.

What is seasonal color analysis?

+

Seasonal color analysis is a method that matches the colors you wear to your natural coloring — the undertone of your skin, and the depth and contrast of your hair and eyes. It groups people into four families (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), each split into three sub-seasons, for twelve seasons in total. Wearing your season's palette makes skin look clearer and features more defined; wearing against it can make you look tired or washed out.

What are the 12 color seasons?

+

The twelve seasons are Light Spring, Warm Spring, Clear Spring, Light Summer, Cool Summer, Soft Summer, Soft Autumn, Warm Autumn, Deep Autumn, Deep Winter, Cool Winter, and Clear Winter. Springs and Autumns have warm undertones, Summers and Winters cool ones; within each family the sub-seasons differ by how light, deep, muted, or bright your natural coloring is.

How does SZNS determine my color season?

+

SZNS analyzes a selfie on your device using Apple's Vision framework, mapping the exact tones in your skin, hair, and eyes. A short four-question quiz sharpens the read, and live draping lets you verify the result by sliding shades against your own face in real time.

How accurate is AI color analysis?

+

Self-assessment quizzes are rough — undertone is genuinely hard to judge by eye, which is why quiz-only results are often inconsistent. Photo-based analysis measures the actual pixel tones of your skin, hair, and eyes, making it substantially more consistent than guessing, and SZNS pairs it with live draping so you can confirm the result yourself. Treat any analysis, human or AI, as a strong starting point rather than a verdict.

What do I get with my season?

+

Your sub-season, a 26-color palette of neutrals, accents, and metals chosen for you, your celebrity color twins, live draping to test every shade against your face, and an AI stylist that scores real outfits against your colors.
